Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Analyst II

This role will be primarily responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) including but not limited to transaction monitoring (TM) duties which include analyzing business transactions for unusual or suspicious activity using various manual and automated reporting generated by TreviPay’s AML/financial crimes and fraud alerting systems. The role will also support sanctions, PEP, adverse media related alerts, prospect reviews, KYC/B onboarding new business entities.  This role will work closely with other members of the FIU located in Costa Rica, United States and United Arab Emirates. This role will report to a U.S.-based manager within the FIU.
 
Duties and Responsibilities (List in order of time spent.)
o    Review and analyze alerts/cases related to reviews (initial, secondary, post decisioning, transactional and exception reports), and existing account changes. Primary focus of transaction monitoring (TM) will include the reviewing and actioning of alerts/cases generated through our TM platform involving transactions completed across various programs.
o    Review and evaluate alerts related to potential sanctions, PEPs and adverse media
o    Review, analyze, and organize data; draft investigative narratives including suspicious activity reports (or international jurisdictional equivalents)
o    Conduct thorough onboarding and ongoing customer due diligence measures in accordance with internal policies and CIP/KYC requirements and best practices
o    Perform reviews (initial, secondary, post decisioning, transactional and exception reports) of alerts generated through initial credit applications, existing account changes or alerts based on red flags, to either clear or confirm alert item (fraud, verification, compliance).
o    Clear and resolve alerts within the respective SOP timeframe related to the alerts.
o    Verify applicant/customer information using online sources/OSINT, 3rd party and internal databases.
o    Review and assist with completion of prospect due diligence review requests to ensure they fall within acceptable risk appetite and aligns with TreviPay’s ideal customer profile.
o    Assist in special projects or other duties, as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
Competencies/Skills

o    Proficiency or working knowledge in the following technologies:
o    MS Office Applications
o    Transaction monitoring platforms (i.e., Unit21, Verafin, Abrigo or equivalent)
o    Sanctions Interdiction platforms (i.e., LexisNexis, Dow Jones, ComplyAdvantage, Castellum AI or equivalent)
o    Advanced Excel and Database knowledge (II-III)

Years of Experience
o    3 – 5 years’ experience in progressing career roles, or single role related to financial crimes compliance or risk management (AML, fraud, sanctions, transaction monitoring)
 
Education (High School Diploma, Associate, Bachelors, masters)
o    Associate degree, Bachelors, Technical School diploma, or other two-year program or equivalent 

Certification/Licenses
o    CFCS, CAMS, CGSS, preferred but not required
