Supervisor, Credit Application Processing

The Supervisor, Credit Application Processor position will serve as a trusted and integral part of the organization responsible for supervising a team of application processors within the credit & risk department, where areas of focus broadly address risks associated with new client and customer onboarding, existing client and customer account risk management, application processes, decision systems, analytics and risk reporting for a global B2B trade credit operation.
 
This role plays a critical part in ensuring that workflows are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal policies and external regulations. As an experienced leader within the company, they routinely interact with customers and program clients, identify issues and drive solutions toward business optimization.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·        Oversee daily operations of the Application Processing team, including workload management, quality control, and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
·        Serve as the first point of contact for escalations and complex cases.
·        Train, coach, and develop team members to ensure consistent performance and professional growth.
·        Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide real-time feedback and support.
·        Ensure that credit applications, increases, and modification requests are reviewed for completeness and accuracy before routing to Underwriting.
·        Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Underwriting, Accounts Receivable, Account Management) to resolve issues and streamline processes.
·        Enforce documentation standards and internal case-handling procedures.
·        Perform periodic audits on application cases to ensure data integrity and regulatory adherence.
·        Support communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of cases.
 
Requirements:
·        Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in financial services, credit operations, or application processing, ideally in a client-facing role
·        At least 1 year in a team lead, supervisory, or mentoring role.
·        Strong understanding of credit application workflows, customer communication, and documentation standards.
·        Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
·        Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
·        Strong attention to detail and ability to review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
·        Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and building cross-functional relationships.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
·        Experience with CRM or credit systems
·        Working knowledge of financial statements, corporate structures and commercial customer types (e.g., government, education, public/private enterprises).
·        Experience collaborating with Underwriting teams.
·        Continuous improvement mindset and experience with process optimization.
·        Fluency in additional languages is highly desirable
